Tarasov Alexander Valentinovich

After finishing postgraduate education in Vladimir technological university Alexander Tarasov started his work as a senior science master in All-Union Research Institute of synthetic resins. It was All-Union Research Institute of Synthetic Resins, where more than 60 years ago, Russian development of membrane technologies began.

In 1979 Alexander Tarasov defended a dissertation of Candidate of Chemical Sciences in Moscow University of Chemical Technology and in 1982 headed the laboratory of the polymeric membrane division.

Since 1985 RME “Polymer synthesis” on the bases of All-Union Research Institute of synthetic resins has become the headquarters of Cross-industry research and manufacturing network “Membranes”. It coordinated all scientific and research works in the field of polymeric membranes and membrane processes throughout the country.

The contribution to the development of Technofilter RME

Alexander Tarasov headed Technofilter Research-and-Manufacturing Enterprise which was founded in 1991.

Since foundation design and manufacture of pleated filter cartridges on the basis of polymeric microfiltration membranes and superfine fiber materials for a wide range of industries (especially pharmacy and electronic industry) has been the main activity of Technofilter RME.

At that time in Russia there were no industries producing such filter elements and Technofilter RME began to work in import phase-out of pleated membrane filter cartridges purchased abroad.

It was Alexander Tarasov together with corporate team who played a central role in the formation and development of the national microfiltration, namely in the development and manufacture of pleated filter cartridges based on microfiltration membranes and other filtering materials as well as technical equipment on their basis.

Actually the development of knowledge-intensive manufacturing of pleated filter cartridges competing favourably with foreign counterparts has become the life work of Alexander Tarasov.

For 30 years Technofilter RME under the supervision of Alexander Tarasov dominates among national manufactures of microfiltration equipment. Today Technofilter RME delivers its products to more than 50 countries with exports share reaching 25%.

Alexander Tarasov is the author of more than 100 scientific papers, including 36 USSR inventor’s certificates and 17 Russian patents.

For many years of effective work in the field of development of life support system of the International Space Station (ISS) Alexander Tarasov is awarded by Certificate from ОАО Scientific Research and development Institute of chemical engineering, and is triply awarded S.P. Korolev Medals of Merit to the cosmonautics.

Alexander Tarasov is awarded an Order of public recognition and is given a title “Honorary employer” by International non-governmental organization of patriotic education “Civil Society”.

Professional success of Technofilter RME proves that Alexander Tarasov is an estimable leader who not only displays concern about the development of the enterprise but about the goodwill of Vladimir city and Vladimir Region in the whole.

In September 2019 Alexander Tarasov was state awarded the Gratitude of the President of Russian Federation for professional achievements, social activity and conscientious piece of work for many years.
